Lakewood Drive Drain No3 & Pumping Scheme

The Town of Amherstburg is soliciting bids for the Lakewood Drive Drain No3 and Pumping Scheme project, which involves critical infrastructure upgrades to the Bar Point Pump station and the construction of a new storm sewer drain. The scope of work includes the removal and disposal of existing pump structures, the installation of a new 40 Hp electric motor and propeller pump assembly, and the installation of a 50 kW diesel backup generator system with an automatic transfer switch. Additionally, the project requires the construction of a new storm sewer drain using high-density polyethylene (HDPE) piping, along with associated tasks such as excavation, brushing, ditch filling, and the management and disposal of excess soil in compliance with O.Reg. 406/19. The work will be performed within the road right-of-ways of Lakewood Drive, Ridgewood Lane, McLeod Avenue, and Essex Boulevard. Bidders must submit their proposals through the specified online portal by the extended deadline of Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 4:30 PM. Mandatory submission requirements include a digital bid bond equal to 10% of the submission price, a Performance Bond, and a Labour and Material Payment Bond, each totaling 100% of the tender price. Contractors must also provide proof of Commercial General Liability insurance of at least $5,000,000 on an occurrence basis and Automobile Liability of $2,000,000. A Domestic Supply Chain Plan is required, mandating that at least 50% of materials, such as concrete, piping, and generators, originate from Ontario or Canada. The project is expected to commence upon contract execution, with construction completion targeted for September 30, 2027, followed by a one-year maintenance period ending September 30, 2028. All works must adhere to Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications and the Town of Amherstburg's health and safety guidelines.
