Landscape Maintenance Services for Natural Areas

The Corporation of the City of Mississauga is soliciting bids for contract PRC005580 to obtain professional landscape maintenance and site preparation services for natural and naturalized areas. The scope of work encompasses the maintenance of existing planting sites and the preparation of new sites, specifically including trimming and mowing to maintain grass height at or below 10cm, watering planted materials, manual control of non-native invasive species, thinning of undesirable vegetation, and the removal of fencing, tree guards, and stakes. Additionally, the supplier is responsible for litter cleanup and the provisional removal of dumped landscape and yard waste. All work must be performed according to industry standards, with scheduled tasks completed within 20 business days and unscheduled tasks within 10 business days. The contract will be awarded to the lowest-compliant bidder following a three-stage evaluation process consisting of a review of mandatory submission requirements, mandatory technical requirements—including a requirement for experience with at least three similar sites in the last five years—and a final pricing review. The successful supplier must comply with the City's Standard Terms and Conditions for Non-Construction, including adherence to the Procurement By-law, Supplier Code of Conduct, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario. Bids must be submitted electronically by October 9, 2026. Payment is based on a unit-pricing model with standard net 30-day terms following approval by the City's Contract Manager.
