Large Flat Panel Detector (LFPD )

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, through its Office of Facilities, Engineering and Mission Support, is seeking market research for a Large Flat Panel Detector (LFPD) under solicitation number CDRH-2026-133668, with responses due by May 12, 2026 at 4:00 PM Eastern Time. This is a Sources Sought Notice, not a formal solicitation, and the government has not committed to awarding a contract. The detector must have a minimum active imaging area of 42.7 cm × 42.7 cm with a pixel pitch no larger than 170 µm, and must meet stringent image quality standards including a modulation transfer function of at least 50% at 1 lp/mm, detective quantum efficiency of at least 70% at 0 lp/mm, and lag of no more than 3% in the first frame after exposure. It must operate across an energy range of 40–150 kVp, have a fill factor of at least 60%, support frame rates of 25 fps in fluoroscopy, 40 fps in CBCT, and 4 fps in radiography, while maintaining a maximum weight of 15 kg. The detector must be air-cooled, function reliably in ambient temperatures from 19 to 49°C and humidity from 10 to 90% non-condensing, withstand radiation doses up to 2,000 Gy, and operate at atmospheric pressures between 70 and 106 kPa. Delivery must include a complete operational kit with all necessary electronics, cables, mounting hardware, and software, and be shipped to the FDA facility in Silver Spring, Maryland. Vendors are required to provide a technical compliance matrix, product data sheets, and a capability statement not exceeding 10 pages, with supporting attachments excluded from the page limit.
