The Marathon County Solid Waste Department is issuing an invitation to bid for leachate hauling services for the term of January 2027 - December 2029. This is a 3-year contract for hauling services.The leachate system consists of pumps, control panels, tanks, storage devices and piping. The Bidder will be responsible for operating the pumping stations of the leachate system in accordance with the Plan of Operation and trucking leachate to a location for treatment. It will be Marathon County’s responsibility to maintain loadout stations and ensure pumps and pump panels are operating. Contractor will be responsible for transportation of leachate from leachate storage tanks at the landfill to designated wastewater treatment facilities. Leachate shall be transported to Village of Plover Wastewater Treatment, City of Stevens Point WWTP, or the City of Medford  WWTP. Marathon County will be responsible for the cost of treatment at the treatment plant. The bidder shall provide a price for the hauling of leachate on a per gallon basis. The estimated daily generation of leachate is 50,000 gallons and can be as high as 80,000 gallons per day during spring and wet weather.
