The New York State Unified Court System has awarded a contract to Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, LLP for outside legal representation of the Attorney Grievance Committee for the First Judicial Department, located in the Bronx and across New York State. The contract spans from November 22, 2024, to November 21, 2025, with a total value of $100,000. This award was made through a single-source exemption approved by the New York State Office of the State Comptroller, citing a change in scope that made advertising infeasible, and recognizing Paul, Weiss as the sole recipient suitable for this scope. The contract is part of a solicitation process with the response deadline set for March 17, 2025, and the notice was posted on March 10, 2025. The contract aims to provide specialized legal services for the Attorney Grievance Committee, ensuring oversight and discipline within the legal community in the First Judicial Department. The designated point of contact for inquiries is Gabrielle Tanski-Shaver, a Senior Management Analyst, reachable via email at [email hidden] or by phone at [phone hidden]. This arrangement underscores the agency’s reliance on a recognized legal firm to fulfill specific legal oversight functions, with the contract being part of the broader administrative and judicial operations within New York State.
