Lennox Park Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and Roof Project

Lennox Park is a 6-acre park that provides a variety of recreational facilities, including a swimming pool; a community building that houses a gymnasium and multipurpose room; a softball field; a basketball court; a teen center; a senior center; futsal courts; and a fitness zone. According to the 2016 Los Angeles Countywide Parks Needs Assessment, Lennox Park is located in a study area with a very high park need. The heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems serving the community building and senior center have exceeded their useful service lives, making them unreliable, inefficient, and unable to adequately meet the needs of either facility. In addition, the roof of the community building shows signs of age and wear, including leaks and compromised insulation. Replacement of these essential building systems is necessary to improve energy efficiency and provide a safe and comfortable environment for daily activities. The improvements also serve an important public safety function. Because the community building is officially designated as a cooling center, modernizing this infrastructure is critical to supporting community health and resilience during periods of extreme heat. The proposed project will replace the existing roof of the community building and replace the HVAC systems serving both the community building and senior center.
