The City of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department is engaged in developing a 7-mile former rail corridor in the Linden and Northland community into 58-acre linear park. This Request for Proposals seeks to further advance the design and construction plans to reclaim the neglected corridor into a linear park, including functional urban greenspace, nature, recreation, and a regionally significant trail offering connectivity to jobs, transit, commercial and cultural destinations, parks, schools, and neighborhoods. CRPD anticipates a construction cost for these improvements to be approximately $25-30M. This project is anticipated to be delivered using design-bid-build. The responses to this RFP will be evaluated considering how the respondent proposes their approach to all three stages listed above for this project. CRPD will modify the Design Professional’s contract during each stage when fees and contract terms will be negotiated. It may be determined that each Stage represented above may also be broken down into separate phases.
