LOWER BRULE NORTH SHORELINE STABILIZATION AND ECOSYSTEM RESTORATION, ELEMENT 2

On or about 6 October 2026, the Government intends to issue the Invitation for Bid (IFB) for LOWER BRULE NORTH SHORELINE STABILIZATION AND ECOSYSTEM RESTORATION, ELEMENT 2. The IFB will close on or about 10 November 2026. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. Sit Visit: A Site Visit is scheduled for 28 October 2026. Additional information regarding the site visit will be provided in the solicitation in Section 00 21 00. Project Description: Element 2 of the project includes the construction of a 100-foot-wide riparian planting bench, a gravel maintenance path along the entire reach, and the creation of a 200-by-1,500-foot island within Reach 4 of the lake, in water up to three feet deep. The island will be planted with cottonwood trees and other culturally significant vegetation. To protect the lakeward side of the island from wind, wave action, and ice erosion, a riprap revetment will be installed. The sheltered open water area between the island and the shoreline is anticipated to naturally evolve into approximately 5.17 acres of emergent wetland. Additionally, this measure will result in the creation of roughly 32 acres of riparian habitat. DO NOT submit requests for plans and specifications. See Obtaining Solicitation Documents below. Completion Date: The Contractor will be required to commence work upon receipt of contract award and complete the work 450 days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. This is subject to change after IFB issuance. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and Payment Bonds will be required. Estimated Construction Costs: The estimated construction cost of this project is between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000.
