The Naval Air Systems Command's Air Combat Electronics Program Office plans to award a sole source Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract to BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration Inc. for support related to the RT-1805/APN Low Probability of Intercept Altimeter (LPIA). This contract covers post-production support including repair, integration, and operation of the radar altimeter receiver/transmitter. Because BAE Systems originally developed the RT-1805/APN under a competitive contract, they retain proprietary information essential for providing this specialized support, which includes engineering assistance on performance and interface issues, troubleshooting, and out-of-warranty repairs for production and pre-production units. The contract is to be awarded non-competitively, recognizing BAE Systems as the only responsible source with the necessary expertise and proprietary data to meet the requirements. The period of performance for the contract is expected to extend through September 30, 2013. The work will be performed at BAE Systems' facility in Wayne, New Jersey, with primary oversight from the Naval Air Systems Command office located in Patuxent River, Maryland. This contract supports maintaining critical operational readiness and technical support for the RT-1805/APN radar altimeter system utilized by the Navy.
