The Department of the Air Force is conducting market research through a Sources Sought Notice to assess the capability of small businesses to perform custom fabrication and installation services for a replacement generator on a Large Test Vehicle at the 746th Test Squadron in Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico. The work involves designing and building a heavy-duty slide-out shelf rated for 1,462 lbs with 100% extension, integrating a weather-resistant enclosure with an IP66-rated seal and locking door, modifying the vehicle cutout as needed, and ensuring full integration of the government-furnished Model S10020T4 generator in compliance with OEM manuals. The installation must pass a 60-minute operational test under 75% simulated load without overheating or faults, and all modified areas must be painted to match the original vehicle color. The contractor is responsible for transporting the vehicle using a CDL-licensed driver, returning the old generator and unused parts, and providing operational manuals for new hardware. The anticipated contract type is Firm-Fixed-Price under FAR Part 12 in conjunction with FAR Part 13, with a NAICS code of 811121 and a size standard of $9.0 million. An estimated value of $58,759.25 has been considered, but no pricing is requested at this stage. Responses must be submitted as a five-page capability statement by June 19th, 2026, at 9:00 AM CDT to Virginia Jones at virginia.jones.6@us.af.mil, and must include company identification, active SAM.gov registration status, socioeconomic certifications, relevant experience in vehicle modification or equipment integration, confirmation of interest as a prime contractor, and feedback on the proposed classification. All personnel must complete Holloman AFB security vetting, and the contractor must ensure compliance with base safety and environmental regulations. A minimum one-year warranty is required for all workmanship and contractor-supplied components, and work must occur in two phases — off-site fabrication completed within 45 days of order issuance and on-site installation within 30 days of vehicle receipt, unless otherwise approved for execution entirely at Holloman.
