Alief Independent School District in Texas is soliciting proposals for catalog discount pricing on lumber and a broad range of building supplies, including lumber, plywood, fire-rated drywall, reinforcing bar, cement, metal framing components, laminate, acrylic sheeting, doors, and roofing materials. The solicitation, identified by number 2320 and posted on January 20, 2023, remains open for electronic submissions until April 30, 2028, at 2:00 P.M. CDT. Vendors are encouraged to respond promptly for consideration of contract award, which will be communicated electronically. Proposals cannot be faxed or emailed and should be submitted through the designated online portal. Vendors retain the right to cancel at any point during the contract term by notifying the buyer, and contract pricing may be extended on a month-to-month basis pending mutual agreement if a subsequent proposal is not executed before the current term expires. The contract emphasizes flexibility and ongoing procurement for building materials with no specified firm-fixed contract term or firm prices, allowing vendors to offer catalog discounts instead. There are no federal acquisition regulations clauses directly applicable as this is a state local education district procurement rather than a federal contract. The solicitation does not explicitly define packaging, marking, or delivery terms but requires compliance with standard safety and administrative practices. The point of contact is Fabby Restrepo, reachable by email or phone. Despite the lack of detailed pricing or contract values publicly disclosed, vendors must certify compliance with safety standards, drug-free workplace policies, and equal employment opportunity provisions. Additionally, subcontracting practices must adhere to applicable state laws with required disclosure and bonding for subcontractors above certain thresholds. Overall, this ongoing solicitation supports the district’s need for a broad inventory of construction-related materials sourced under competitive catalog discount pricing, facilitating streamlined purchasing for facilities maintenance and improvement projects.
