The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey plans to establish a sole source contract with Honeywell International, Inc. for the ongoing maintenance of the Ground Based Augmentation System (GBAS) at Newark Liberty International Airport. Honeywell's SmartPath system, deployed at EWR, requires continuous annual maintenance to ensure FAA certification and support during system alerts. To maintain system compatibility, streamline operations, and uphold single-source responsibilities, the Port Authority intends to procure maintenance services directly from Honeywell. Interested firms that believe they can compete are invited to submit a statement of intent via email by June 24, 2025, with the possibility that no formal solicitation will be issued. The contract, with a value estimated between $500,000 and $2,000,000, is open to all NYS counties, and the Port Authority emphasizes its commitment to equal opportunity and nondiscrimination under civil rights laws. Firms unfamiliar with the Port Authority are encouraged to register as vendors and review bid opportunities on their website. The procurement process aims to ensure fair competition, particularly for disadvantaged, minority, and woman-owned business enterprises, although this specific opportunity is not set aside for service-disabled veteran-owned businesses. The primary point of contact for inquiries is the Procurement Support Specialist, and further details are available through the provided online link.
