Full Description

The purpose of this synopsis is to provide a long-range acquisition estimate for the Marine Personnel Carrier (MPC) Program (under FAR 5.404 guidance). The information herein is provided to assist industry with its planning. The long-range estimate information provided herein is: (1) Based on the best information available at this time; (2) Subject to modification and is in no way binding on the Government; and (3) More specific information related to the MPC Program will not be furnished until the proposed action is synopsized through the Government Point of Entry (GPE a.k.a. www.FBO.gov). The Government has completed review of industry responses to Request For Information W56HZV-MPC-RFI. RFI W56HZV-MPC-RFI was for initial market research related to the MPC. The Government anticipates performing detailed market research in the areas of water mobility, blast protection and Human Factor Engineering (HFE) during Fiscal Year (FY) 2012 and FY 2013. The Government anticipates release of a competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) in the second quarter of FY 2012 to conduct detailed vehicle market research. The Government anticipates multiple awards from the RFP. The Government anticipates using three (3) contractor-owned assets per vendor to conduct the vehicle water mobility, blast, and HFE market research.
