The contract is for the procurement of a dedicated masticating machine to be used for clearing hazardous fuel breaks along the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska to mitigate wildfire risks to human life, safety, and property adjacent to the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. The machine must meet stringent technical specifications, including a single grouser track system between 28 and 32 inches wide with hydrostatic drive and H-frame oscillating tracks, a pressurized and soundproof operator cab with emergency egress, forestry protection kits, a front steel screen, and a rear-view camera with LCD display.
