On February 7, 2025, the New York State Office of the State Comptroller approved a single-source exemption for the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) to allocate additional funds for invoices related to work completed prior to December 31, 2024. This exemption was granted under NY State Finance Law Section 163.10 (b), which confirms that a competitive procurement process was not feasible due to the absence of active procurement opportunities. The contract, originally established on January 1, 2020, and set to conclude on December 31, 2024, covers statewide materials inspection, sampling, and testing consulting services for NYSDOT across all New York counties. The contract value ranges between five and fifteen million dollars, and the work is performed throughout the state. The notice emphasizes that this is a sole-source award to Bureau Veritas North America, Inc., and any inquiries regarding this exemption should be directed to the designated contact person, Shalina Mallory, at the NYSDOT. The exemption notice is valid until February 18, 2025, and the contract supports NYSDOT’s statewide operations.
