The Pond Creek Bank Improvement project is part of Santa Rosa County's plan to remedy severe creek bank erosion caused by extreme past storm events and improve resiliency during larger storm events along areas of Pond Creek's bank within Mayo Park. These improvements include excavation of unsuitable materials and revitalization of the creek bank using natural materials such as logs, tree limbs, stone, select fill material, and native plantings. Part of this project, Bid Alternate A, also includes repairs to an existing sea wall located along the western shore of the creek that was damaged by past storms, causing parts of the wall to fall into the creek. The proposed improvements shall meet County and FDOT standards and specifications. The project shall be constructed in 120 days (90 days for substantial completion and 30 days for final completion) from the notice to proceed date, and if Bid Alternate A is selected, an additional 90 days for completion of Bid Alternate A.
