AI Contract Overview

Hillsborough County is seeking to extend an existing contract with S&D Medical Direction LLC for an additional five years, providing emergency medical direction and physician advisory services to paramedics, emergency medical technicians, and staff chiefs involved in 9-1-1 emergency response. The extension increases the total contract value by approximately $1.18 million, raising the award amount from $400,008 to $1,577,058. This procurement is justified under the County’s procurement policy due to the specialized nature of the services, which involve diagnosis, treatment, medical consultation, and administration in life-threatening situations. The County has determined that competitive bidding is not practical at this time because of the need for continuity, familiarity with Fire Rescue systems, established protocols, and cross-training, and it reserves the right to further extend, modify, or increase the scope and funding of the contract as needed. Interested parties who believe they can provide substantially similar services are invited to submit challenges with supporting evidence before the deadline, which is June 12, 2024. The County will review any challenges to determine if genuine competition exists before finalizing the award. The contract is designated under solicitation number SS-24-24914, with a response deadline of June 12, 2024, and is managed by Tracy Edwards, who can be contacted via email for further information. The contract's total size is estimated to range between approximately $1.58 million and $2.75 million, reflecting potential adjustments based on future modifications.

By way of this and future modifications, the County reserves the right to extend the time period further, adjust the scope of services in response to changing conditions and updated requirements, and increase the resulting award accordingly.
