The Federal Bureau of Prisons U.S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield, Missouri, intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed price purchase order to Henry Schein Inc. for specialized dialysis supplies. The procurement includes an estimated 960 cases of MediSystems Ready Set airless blood tubing and 168 cases of Arterial/Venous Fistula Needle Sets. While the government intends to proceed with a sole source award under FAR Part 6.302-1, other firms were given the opportunity to provide written notification and supporting evidence of their ability to meet these requirements by September 1, 2010. The final determination to compete the procurement remains at the sole discretion of the government.
