Menifee and Watson Road II Booster Pump Station and Matthews Transmission Pipeline Project

The Eastern Municipal Water District is initiating the Menifee and Watson Road II Booster Pump Station and Matthews Transmission Pipeline Project in Menifee, Riverside County. The project scope involves the construction of two new booster pump stations, the Watson Road II BPS and Menifee BPS, which will be housed in a new 12,600-square-foot building on a 1.96-acre vacant parcel west of the Antelope Road and Watson Road intersection. Additionally, the project requires the decommissioning and removal of the existing Romoland BPS located at the intersection of Ethanac Road and Antelope Road. Infrastructure development includes the installation of approximately 1.85 miles of transmission pipeline. Key components consist of a new 36-inch diameter pipeline connecting the facility to the Perris Valley North/South Pressure Zone, a 30-inch diameter transmission main in Watson Road connecting the Watson Road II BPS to the existing Watson BPS, and a 300-foot long, 36-inch steel pipeline connecting the new stations to the Romoland Feeder. The project has undergone environmental review under CEQA, including a Mitigated Negative Declaration, to address potential impacts on special-status species, cultural resources, and noise. Coordination with agencies such as the California Regional Water Quality Control Board and the South Coast Air Quality Management District is required, and compliance with Cal/OSHA standards is mandatory.
