Issued on October 10, 2013, by the Department of the Interior Interior Business Center on behalf of the Task Force for Business and Stability Operations, this Request for Information seeks input from small business concerns regarding mineral tender development and geological services in Afghanistan. The objective is to assist the Government of Afghanistan and the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum in establishing a sustainable, world-class tender process to attract domestic and foreign investment for the exploration and exploitation of mineral wealth. The scope of work is divided into geological technical support and legal support, encompassing tasks such as drafting technical reports, reviewing mining codes, conducting investor roadshows, negotiating mining agreements, and providing capacity-building training to Afghan officials. The anticipated period of performance is approximately 11 months with one six-month option period, with primary operations located in Afghanistan.
