The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) intend to award a sole source brand name Purchase Order to MPI Supply for the purchase of a King Cobra Roofbolter, a dust collection system, and an air hose. This equipment is highly specialized and is required to maintain areas of the research mine that are not high enough for the larger roof bolter machine currently owned by NIOSH. MPI Supply is the only authorized distributer of this equipment in the United States. This order is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106(b). Interested persons/companies may identify their interest and capability by responding to this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive responses; however, all quotations/responses received within fifteen days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any correspondence shall be directed to the Contracting Officer, Kate Oyler, via email at koyler@cdc.gov as soon as possible but no later than 11:00 AM EST on December 28, 2018.
