MK 45 Gun Port Shields

The U.S. Navy, through the Naval Sea Systems Command, has awarded a firm-fixed-price order to BAE Systems Land and Armaments L.P. under the basic ordering agreement N00024-23-G-5305 for the overhaul of four Gun Port Shields for the MK 45 naval gun system, in support of allied navies via the Foreign Military Sales program. This procurement was conducted on a non-competitive basis under FAR 6.103-1, as BAE Systems is the sole provider with the specialized technical knowledge, facilities, and expertise required to perform this work. The order includes optional quantities that, if exercised, would expand the scope to a total of six overhauls. The contract is managed by the Department of Defense, with the performing location in Louisville, Kentucky, and the awarding office based at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, D.C. The work supports critical defense capabilities for international partners, ensuring the continued operational readiness of allied naval forces equipped with MK 45 gun systems.
