The Visitor Center, built in 2007, is a barn style building that serves as one of the main attractions at Monocacy National Battlefield. It provides interpretive programs, exhibits, artifacts and restroom facilities. This space is used by NPS staff, volunteers and is used as an event space. The building currently has a boiler system which heats the building in the winter and a chiller unit which cools it during the summer. Over the years the boiler system has become increasingly time consuming.
