Full Description

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-MAN-48729-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code, to Marin Water. The project is limited to: 1) routine maintenance activities including 43 culvert replacements and 21 culvert-to-rock ford crossing replacements (Routine Maintenance Agreement activities), and 2) the replacement of 2 culverts and 1 culvert-to-rock crossing replacement that will be substantially upsized (Standard Agreement activities), as outlined below. 1. Routine maintenance activities which are defined as activities that are periodically scheduled and implemented as necessary to maintain the water transport capacity of stream channels and the structural and functional integrity of existing culverts on or affecting streams. These activities include routine culvert replacements, which includes 40 upsized culverts and 21 upsized rock crossings, one in-kind culvert replacement, and two downsized culverts. Existing culvert diameters range between six and 24 inches. Replacement culverts diameters will range between 18 and 42 inches. Some locations may also require minor placement of rip-rap or rearranging existing rip-rap. No riparian trees will be removed as a result of these activities. Routine maintenance activities are anticipated to result in 0.30 acres of permanent impacts and 1.09 acres and 3,094 linear feet of temporary impacts to stream habitat. 2. The replacement of 2 culverts and 1 culvert-to-rock crossing replacement that will be substantially upsized and are not considered routine maintenance are located at: A. EG-8, Latitude 37.93431317°, Longitude -122.5736316° B. SG-16, Latitude 37.95642427°, Longitude -122.5849802° C. PM-05, Latitude 37.98877267°, Longitude -122.682492° The 2 culvert replacements and 1 culvert-to-rock crossing replacement will result in430 square feet (0.01 acre) and 10 linear feet of permanent impacts and 2,268 square feet (0.05 acre) and 70 linear feet of temporary impacts to stream habitat. No riparian trees will be removed as a result of these activities.
