SYNOPSIS This replacement project is located at the Muskie Federal Building, 40 Western Ave. in Augusta, Me. Synopsis: This project consist of the removal of the east cooling tower on the roof and the work will include, but is not limited to the following disciplines, areas, and tasks. Construction: The contractor is to provide all labor, materials, equipment and supervision for removing and replacing the East Cooling Tower. The tower is located on the roof of a seven story building; a crane will be required to facilitate the removal of the existing tower & setting the new tower on the steel base. Removal of the tower includes the vibration isolators along with 20 linear feet of 6" grooved supply and return piping. Also the 4" overflow; 2" drain line piping and including the 1" fresh water make-up line. Cleaning rust and prepping the base to be repainted prior to setting the new tower. Electrical: electrical power with conduit Relocation of a light switch to move to an alternate entry door, restructuring of lighting switches to include occupancy sensors, minor work to accommodate wall reconstruction and new exhaust system. Work will also include any items in space that require moving to accommodate work. Items can be relocated in space, or a temporary storage space will be provided for the contractor. The following line items are part of this project. Provide and install a Baltimore AirCoil Company Cooling tower such as Model S15E-1285-06JN Series 1500E Tower, or an approved equal.
