Full Description

NOTICE OF INTENT: Mission and Installation Contracting Command - Fort Lee, intends to award, on a sole source basis, in accordance with 10 USC 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, a contract to Commtronics of VA, 1901 E. Whitehill Rd., Prince George, VA, to provide three new directional siren/voice/bugle generating units and three tower poles to support the existing outdoor mass notification system at Fort Lee. The units being installed must be capable of sending sounds (siren, tone, music and voice) a distance of two-thousand (2,000) feet. The siren unit will be activated by both of the existing activation control systems and will be solar powered. Poles will meet all specs as previous siren/tower installations in TA5 (Ordnance Campus and at the Vehicle Recovery TA); NAICS Code 811213, Communications Repair and Maintenance, Size Standard $7M, SIC Code 7622. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
