AI Contract Overview

The contract involves a sole source solicitation for the testing, commissioning, and training related to dissolved gas monitors installed on five Davis Siemens GSU Transformers owned by the Bureau of Reclamation. Yellowstone Electric Company, the original installer, is the only authorized source to perform this work due to warranty conditions set by the monitor manufacturer, Siemens. This ensures that only the original installer can undertake the maintenance and training to maintain warranty coverage. The contract falls under NAICS code 811310, covering commercial and industrial machinery repair and maintenance, with the Lower Colorado Regional Office overseeing the procurement. The award will be a firm, fixed-price contract with the anticipated award date originally set for April 2019, although the solicitation was reposted in April 2020 with submissions accepted until April 24, 2020. Interested parties can submit bids or capability statements for consideration, but the noncompetitive nature emphasizes Yellowstone Electric Company’s unique status as the only qualified source. All communications must reference solicitation number 140R3020Q0008, and questions should be directed to Tanya Wirth at the Bureau of Reclamation. Contract details and award information will be available through the Federal Business Opportunities website.
