The Indian Health Service’s Navajo Area Office is seeking information through a Request for Information to establish a nationwide secondary internet service across all its sites in the Navajo Area, aimed at enhancing network resilience through an SD-WAN configuration. This initiative seeks to provide redundancy for primary internet connections, ensuring uninterrupted service continuity during outages and maintaining critical healthcare operations at each location. The effort is being conducted under a Buy Indian Set-Aside, specifically reserved for businesses eligible under Department of Health and Human Services’ Indian Health Service procurement policies, with the NAICS code 517121 indicating a focus on wired telecommunications services. Respondents are directed to submit information via the SAM.gov portal, with a response deadline of July 20, 2026, and the primary point of contact is Darnell Harkless at the Program Support Center in Rockville, Maryland. The place of performance is centered in Window Rock, Arizona, serving all Navajo Area sites, but no final contract values, pricing details, performance timelines, technical specifications, or evaluation criteria have been established in the current RFI phase. The procurement is being handled as an early-stage information gathering effort, with no formal contract clauses, deliverables, inspection requirements, or certification data currently available, as the focus remains on assessing vendor capabilities and market solutions to meet the redundancy requirements.
