Data Analysis for Quality, Safety & Oversight of the End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), Transplant, and Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) ProgramsThe Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is awarding a sole source, firm-fixed-price contract to the University of Michigan / Kidney Epidemiology and Cost Center (UM/KECC) for data analysis and reporting services critical to the oversight of End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), Transplant, and Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) programs. This action is justified under specific federal acquisition regulations due to the unique and specialized expertise of UM/KECC, with no other entity capable of fulfilling the required functions. The acquisition is conducted under FAR Part 12 because the services are classified as commercial services, ensuring streamlined procurement processes while maintaining rigorous standards. The contract requires the contractor to produce a comprehensive suite of detailed, timely, and standardized reports on dialysis facilities, transplant programs, and OPOs, including facility-specific profiles, state and regional comparisons, outcome rankings, and composite data for survey planning. These reports are essential tools for CMS and state agencies to monitor performance, ensure compliance, and enhance the safety and quality of care across the national kidney disease treatment and transplant network. All deliverables must be distributed securely and promptly via a dedicated website to support oversight stakeholders including surveyors, state authorities, providers, and the public. Reports include monthly initial transplant program updates, organization-specific OPO analyses, state-ranked outcomes lists with public-facing reversed top-performer versions, and nationally aggregated statistics that highlight variations in practice and patient outcomes. The work is governed by a detailed Statement of Work and is critical to CMS’s mission of accountability and transparency in renal and transplant healthcare. The solicitation, identified as 75FCMC26R0057, was posted on July 10, 2026, with responses due by August 10, 2026, and is administered by the Office of Acquisition and Grants Management within the Department of Health and Human Services, based in Baltimore, Maryland. Point of contact for inquiries is Joshua Czerski, with Brian Humes as secondary contact.

Rigorously Evaluating Approaches to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse and Problematic Sexual Behavior among YouthThe Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Injury Prevention and Control is seeking investigator-initiated research proposals to rigorously evaluate programs and policies aimed at the primary prevention of child sexual abuse and problematic sexual behavior among youth under 18. Child sexual abuse is defined as sexual victimization by an adult, while problematic sexual behavior refers to developmentally inappropriate sexual actions by youth that may cause harm, whether intentional or not. The research must focus on one of three priorities: prevention efforts targeting digital spaces such as the creation or distribution of explicit imagery involving children, initiatives addressing the use of digital platforms for commercial sexual exploitation and sex trafficking of minors, or organizational policies within youth-serving settings like schools, foster care, faith-based groups, and community centers designed to prevent abuse and harmful behaviors. The goal is to build a strong evidence base for effective primary prevention strategies that can be widely implemented. All proposals must meet gold standard research criteria to ensure rigorous evaluation, and applicants are expected to design studies that can demonstrate measurable impact and scalability. The funding opportunity is open to researchers and institutions capable of conducting high-quality, independent evaluations, with no set-asides specified. Interested parties can direct inquiries to Dr. Candis M. Hunter via the provided contact information. The announcement was posted on July 10, 2026, and prospective applicants are encouraged to review the full solicitation through the official grants portal for detailed submission guidelines and requirements.
