Network Service - Cincinnati, OH

THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC), Information Technology Services Office (ITSO) intends to solicit a single source and award a firm fixed price contract to Cincinnati Bell Telephone Company in Cincinnati, OH, in accordance with FAR Part 15 - Contracting by Negotiation, FAR Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 6.3 - Other Than Full and Open Competition. The purpose of this procurement is to to obtain network service to existing Ethernet and T1 lines. The anticipated Period of Performance is a 12 month base plus two option years totalling 36 months from date of award. CDC anticipates soliciting and negotiating with only one source under the statutory authority 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) permitting other than full and open competition in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1 - Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. (ii) Supplies may be deemed to be available only from the original source in the case of a follow-on contract for the continued development or production of a major system or highly specialized equipment, including major components thereof, when it is likely that award to any other source would result in- (A) Substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition; or (B) Unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency's requirements. No Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent.
