The City of San Antonio, the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, and the US Army Corps of Engineers Fort Worth District are collaborating to host a free Industry Day Forum to support the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) 2005 construction program in the San Antonio area. This multi-billion dollar initiative involves extensive construction projects focused primarily on medical and educational facilities, including hospitals, clinics, surgical centers, research labs, barracks, training centers, fire stations, and fitness centers. The program encompasses new construction, renovations, and demolitions. The event aims to provide detailed project information, acquisition strategies, and networking opportunities between prime contractors and subcontractors, encouraging participation from both large and small businesses across a broad range of NAICS codes related to construction, specialty trades, and professional services. Scheduled for April 4, 2007, at the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center from 8:00 AM to noon, the forum will feature overview presentations and breakout sessions for direct engagement with project managers and military staff. Given the high attendance at a previous forum, pre-registration is strongly recommended, with detailed instructions to be submitted via email to a designated Chamber representative. Registration in the Central Contractor Registration system is mandatory for prime contractors. The event also promotes small business partnerships, including joint ventures, to maximize competition and business opportunities under SBA guidelines. Interested parties are encouraged to review additional project details through an online PowerPoint and direct inquiries to the provided contact resources.
