NETZSCH LFA717 HyperFlash System

NASA Shared Services Center is seeking to procure a NETZSCH LFA717 HyperFlash System under a sole source 8(a) contract authority pursuant to FAR 12.102(a), as NETZSCH INSTRUMENTS NORTH AMERICA, LLC is the exclusive provider of this specialized equipment. The procurement is being managed by the NASA Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, California, where the system will be installed and commissioned for use by the Thermal Protection Materials Branch to measure thermal diffusivity and thermal conductivity of aerospace materials in accordance with ASTM, DIN, ISO, and other international standards. The system includes a steel furnace with sapphire windows capable of operating from ambient to 500°C, an InSb detector with a 24-hour LN2 Dewar, ZoomOptics software-controlled infrared lens system, sample holder insets for round and square specimens, Proteus software version 9.x for data acquisition and analysis, digital operating manuals on USB, and appliance posters. Full installation and commissioning by a NETZSCH service engineer, including operator training, is required. The equipment must be configured for 115V, 60Hz power and operate in an environment with oil-free, dry, filtered pressurized air at 6 to 10 bar and a dew point below 5°C. The contract is scoped for a 7-week period after award, and all deliveries must be fulfilled at the specified NASA Ames location. This acquisition falls under NAICS code 334516 and is being conducted using commercial item procedures under FAR Part 12.
