New concrete pad and resurfacing

The Radiation Protection Bureau of Health Canada is procuring construction services to relocate a certified field sampling station at Lot 1018, End of Golf Course Road, Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, X1A 2P8. The work includes preparing a new leveled packed gravel base measuring 40 ft by 30 ft with 100 cm of ¾ minus gravel for the placement of four 40-ft sea containers, relocating the containers approximately 175 feet, and constructing a reinforced concrete slab measuring 36 ft by 49 ft by 6 inches with a compressive strength of 32 MPa, reinforced with 10 mm rebar spaced at 12 inches on center. The slab must support two containers, each weighing up to 25,000 lb, and be designed to withstand extreme temperature fluctuations from -50°C to +30°C. Additional requirements include installing PVC or metal conduits at least 48 inches above the pad with pull ropes for future cabling, implementing silica dust control measures during cutting or grinding operations, and ensuring compliance with the National Building Code of Canada and Northwest Territories Occupational Health and Safety legislation. All work must be completed no later than September 30, 2026, with an aggressive target completion date of August 31, 2026. A mandatory site visit on April 28, 2025, at 10:00 am at the YK Geophysical Observatory is required, and bidders must sign the attendance sheet to remain eligible.
