The New York State Grown & Certified Cooperative Marketing Program is a state-administered grant initiative designed to increase sales and consumer awareness of New York State Grown & Certified (NYS G&C) agricultural products. The program offers a total of $500,000 in funding, with individual awards capped at $10,000, to eligible agricultural producers, cooperatives, associations, processors, retailers, and strategic partners currently participating or newly enrolling in the NYS G&C program. Funding supports marketing and promotional activities that incorporate the official NYS G&C logo and brand, including packaging modifications, point-of-purchase displays, and traditional or digital advertising. Digital marketing efforts must provide measurable metrics for reporting purposes. All projects must comply with NYS G&C Style Guidelines and the Trademark Licensing Agreement, with prior departmental approval required for all marketing materials bearing the logo. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the allocated funds are exhausted, with reimbursement payments made following submission of approved claims and supporting documentation. The contract term extends for six months from the date of the signed agreement, during which recipients are required to report baseline and post-project sales data, distribution metrics, and marketing effectiveness to demonstrate impact and compliance. Ineligible expenses include indirect costs, branding non-conformities, promotional swag, and any items purchased before the award date. Applicants must register in the Statewide Financial System (SFS) before applying. The solicitation deadline is September 30, 2026, and the program is managed by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, which serves as the acceptance and administrative authority for the program. The program seeks to build sustainable market recognition for locally grown products without traditional federal procurement clauses, focusing instead on grant best practices, vendor integrity, and state financial accountability.
