Nickerson Gardens – Maintenance and Safety Repairs Project

The Nickerson Gardens Maintenance and Safety Repairs Project is a comprehensive modernization initiative managed by the City of Los Angeles Housing Department for public housing units located at 1590 E. 114th Street, Los Angeles, California. Funded through CA16P004-501-26, the project is designed to ensure the continued operation of the Housing Assistance Program and has been granted a Notice of Exemption under CEQA Guidelines Section 15301. The primary point of contact for the project is Environmental Supervisor Shelly Lo. The scope of work encompasses extensive structural, safety, and utility upgrades. Key deliverables include bringing units into ADA compliance, performing asbestos abatement, stabilizing lead-based paint, and removing mold. Structural improvements involve installing new 20-year roofs, replacing aged gas, water, and sewer lines, and repairing concrete paving for sidewalks, parking lots, and interior streets.
