The U.S. Army Project Manager for Maneuver Ammunition Systems, in coordination with the Army Contracting Command Picatinny Contracting Center, is hosting a Non-Standard Ammunition Industry Day on August 25 and 26, 2010. The event will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn in Rockaway, NJ, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM each day and is designed to provide industry participants the opportunity to engage in discussions and ask questions about the Non-Standard Ammunition General Specification and the program requirements. Non-Standard Ammunition, in this context, refers to ammunition that has not been safety tested or type classified for use by the U.S. Army, primarily intended for non-U.S. weapon systems, and cannot be purchased through the Army supply system. It is important to note that this event does not constitute a Request for Proposal or a commitment by the U.S. Government to award any contract. The first day will include briefings covering an overview of NSA, current and future requirements, procurement methodology, and various functional areas such as technical data and safety. The second half of the first day and the entirety of the second day will be reserved for one-on-one meetings between companies and government representatives, limited to 30 minutes each and scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Advanced registration is required, with each company allowed up to five attendees, and a special notification process is outlined for foreign participants. Questions must be submitted in writing by August 16, 2010, prior to the event, with no acceptance of questions via phone or fax. Interested parties can request the General Specification in advance, and responses will be provided both during and after the Industry Day. The event serves as a forum to gather industry feedback and discuss potential future procurement approaches for NSA.
