--NOTICE OF INTENT

The US Army Medical Command at Fort Gordon is preparing to award a contract for the procurement of a High Flow Oscillatory Ventilator (HFOV) to support the treatment of Acute Lung Injury (ALI) and Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) patients, conditions that cannot be managed effectively with conventional mechanical ventilation. The designated contractor for this specialized equipment is VIASYS Healthcare, Respiratory Care, located in Yorba Linda, California. The contract includes the supply of several key components: a MicBlender with sensor, an extended warranty for the 3100 Oscillator, the 3100B Oscillator unit itself, and an operator and maintenance manual complete with schematics. VIASYS Healthcare is uniquely positioned as the sole manufacturer, certified distributor, and authorized service provider for this equipment, holding the original warranty and exclusive rights to market it. Given the specialized nature of the HFOV, the government considers VIASYS Healthcare the only vendor capable of meeting their stringent technical and service requirements. Other commercial technologies cannot deliver the same level of performance or meet these agency needs. Although this announcement is not a formal request for proposal, companies able to offer maintenance services for this equipment are encouraged to submit details of their technical capabilities, service specifications, past performance, pricing, and geographic coverage for potential future consideration. The government’s technical representatives will review these submissions to evaluate readiness for subsequent requirements related to the maintenance and servicing of this critical medical equipment.
