The Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Bath, Maine (SSBA) intends to award a Sole Source contract to GE Aerospace of One Neumann Way, Cincinnati, OH for familiarization training for GE LM2500+G4 aeroderivative marine gas turbine engine for FFG 62 Class Ships. SSBA will use Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition. The authority for soliciting a single source under simplified acquisition procedures is FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), Soliciting Competition, which states that contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available (e.g., urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand-name or industrial mobilization). The proposed contract action is Sole Source. In accordance with FAR 5.102, the required justification documentation is attached. This Notice of Intent is not a request for quotation. No solicitation or RFQ will be forthcoming. Interested parties may identify their interest and submit product information in response to this notice by 12 noon EST 10 January 2023 via email to pamela.j.everett2.civ@us.navy.mil. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is entirely at the discretion of the Government. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by the closed date specified herein will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
