NOTICE OF DECISION TO CONTRACT WITH A SINGLE SOURCE: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center, intends to award to a single source contract to United States Technologies Inc. (UST)  for the procurement of ARSR-4 RF Transfer Switches P/N 159C264H01 to support the ARSR-4 System.

In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System Paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single source procedures.

The procurement is for replenishment of the Trasnfer Switch serviceable stock levels, which is needed to support the ARSR4 Radar System. The new RF Transfer Switch assembly replaced a legacy unit that was obsolete and difficult to repair. In 2022 the FAA worked with UST to develop and manufacture a form fit and functional replacement unit, which the FAA purchased fourteen production units. This purchase is to increase the serviceable stock level to support the forty-four sites plus the additional forty-four sites spares.

The proposed principle North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 334511 - Search, Detection, Navigation, Guidance, Aeronautical, and Nautical System and Instrument Manufacturing  with a Size Standard of no more than employees averaged over the past 24 months.

This announcement is for informational purposes only, not a Solicitation/Request for Proposal. A competitive solicitation is not available for this procurement. All questions pertaining to this announcement should be addressed in writing to the Contract specialist, Nina Musser, nina.j.musser@faa.gov by 3pm on Friday 24 July 2026.
