AI Contract Overview
The Federal Bureau of Investigation intends to award a one-time, sole-source, firm fixed price contract to Astrophysics, Inc. for the repair and maintenance of its owned X-Ray inspection systems, which are proprietary to the company and for which it is the sole authorized provider. The contract is justified under FAR 6.103-1 and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1), as no other vendor has access to the technical data, diagnostics, firmware, or replacement parts necessary to perform authorized service without compromising system performance, safety, or warranty. The scope of work requires monthly preventive maintenance across all FBI locations nationwide, including evaluations of technical, generator, image, computer, video, environmental, and electrical systems, along with 24/7/365 on-site response capability within 36 hours of a service request to ensure uninterrupted operations. The estimated contract value is $142,045.00, with performance expected at FBI Headquarters and field offices throughout the United States, and acceptance of services to occur at the operational site upon completion. No competitive procurement is planned, and while a notice of intent was published with a response deadline of June 18, 2026, submissions are accepted solely via email to the Contracting Officer, Ricardo Tiggle, and will be used only to assess the viability of competition—not to initiate one. The contract includes no specified line-item pricing, options beyond the estimated value, or formal evaluation factors, and no COR, COTR, or payment office details are provided; all administrative inquiries must be directed to the Contracting Officer. The contractor’s UEI, size status, and socioeconomic certifications are not documented, and while packaging, marking, invoicing methods, and accounting codes remain unspecified, compliance is strictly tied to adherence to manufacturer protocols and operational standards defined by the FBI.
