The U.S. Department of Defense, through the Health Readiness Contracting Office at Joint Base San Antonio, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order on a sole source basis to Alcon Vision, LLC for the procurement of one CENTURION® Vision System and four Centurion ACTIVE SENTRY® Handpieces to be delivered to Keller Army Community Hospital in West Point, New York. This action is authorized under Title 41 U.S.C. §1901(e)(2) as implemented by FAR 12.102(a), which permits sole source acquisitions at or below the simplified acquisition threshold when using brand-name specifications without permitting equal products, based on the necessity of proprietary technology and the avoidance of substantial duplication of cost or unacceptable delays. The CENTURION® Vision System must include proprietary components such as ACTIVE SENTRY® Technology, ACTIVE SENTRY® Handpiece, Active Fluidics™, OZil® IP, and INTREPID® AUTOSERT® IOL Injector Handpiece, all of which are exclusively provided by Alcon Vision, LLC. The solicitation number is W81K0426QA074, with a NAICS code of 339112, posted on May 20, 2026, and responses or concerns must be submitted by May 27, 2026, to the designated Contracting Officer Sara Fetterolf or Contract Specialist Mohamed Koroma. Although the total contract value is not disclosed, the requirement is structured as a non-competitive purchase under the simplified acquisition procedures, and no competition or evaluation factors are applicable due to the sole source justification. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation for consideration, but the government has indicated a clear intent to proceed exclusively with Alcon Vision, LLC based on the uniqueness and integration of the required system components.
