The Health Readiness Contracting Office at Joint Base San Antonio, Fort Sam Houston, TX, plans to award a firm fixed price purchase order on a sole source basis to Alcon Vision, LLC for the acquisition of one CENTURION® Vision System along with four Centurion ACTIVE SENTRY® Handpieces. This procurement is designated for Keller Army Community Hospital in West Point, NY. The CENTURION® Vision System includes proprietary technologies such as ACTIVE SENTRY® Technology, ACTIVE SENTRY® Handpieces, Active Fluidics™, OZil® IP, and the INTREPID® AUTOSERT® IOL Injector Handpiece. The award will be made under the authority of Title 41 U.S.C. §1901(e)(2), allowing for sole source acquisition for contracts at or below the simplified acquisition threshold, where brand-name items are specified without allowing for equivalent products. The government justifies this sole source acquisition based on the specialized nature of the equipment and the potential for substantial duplication of cost or unacceptable delays if sourced from other suppliers. While the contract is intended to be awarded without competition, all responsible parties may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation for consideration prior to the response deadline on May 27, 2026. Any concerns regarding the intent to sole source may be addressed to the contracting officer or contract specialist listed, with the referenced Notice ID in correspondence. The procurement aligns with NAICS code 339112 and is managed by the Department of Defense's Health Care Acquisition office.
