U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE SPECIAL NOTICE SAQMSP12B0001 GENERAL INFORMATION SPECIAL NOTICE WITH INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE - ADVANCED PROGRAMS INC 7125 RIVERWOOD DRIVE, COLUMBIA MD 21046-2352 The U.S. Department of State intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to ADVANCED PROGRAMS INC. The TEMPEST Smart Card Readers are only available from the original source to ensure compatibility with all previously purchased TEMPEST equipment purchased from ADVANCED PROGRAMS INC. The unique specifications for the TEMPEST end item for which the TEMPEST Smart Card Reader would communicate cannot be released as they would violate the OEMs proprietary and/or intellectual rights. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 334119, Other Computer Peripheral Equipment Manufacturing. This is not a request for a competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation to the Contract Specialist listed below no later than 4:00 p.m. CST on Monday, 13 August 2012.
