THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE/PROPOSAL - In pursuant to FAR 5.201, Washington Headquarters Services, Acquisition Directorate (WHS/AD), on behalf of the Office of the Secretary of Defense (DSD), Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE), intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract, on a Sole Source basis to Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments, 1667 K Street, Washington, DC 20006-1659. The previous contract no. HQ0034-18-C-0098 ended on March 15, 2019. The period of performance for the new contract is anticipated to be for one (1), seven-month period. The anticipated award will be made under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Sole Source IAW FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) Soliciting from a single source: "Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available." The anticipated contract is intended to meet CAPE's requirement to provide for three independent studies of alternative aircraft inventories for the US Air Force through 2030, and to provide an associated force sizing construct for the Air Force. Currently, there is an existing need for this requirement with an anticipated award date of June 2019 (FY19).
