The U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center in Huntsville, Alabama, plans to award a sole-source bridge contract to Standard Communications Inc. for the continued operation and maintenance of telephone system services at the Huntsville Center. This contract will extend for up to five months, with a base term of four months and an option for an additional month, running through August 14, 2008. The contract ensures uninterrupted telephone services via the AT&T Centrex system, which leverages ISDN architecture and does not require onsite switching equipment like PBX. The bridge contract serves as a temporary measure until these services transition to the Army Corps of Engineers Information Technology Division (ACE-IT). Although this notice signals an intent to award on a sole-source basis, the Army invites other qualified contractors to submit a written response by May 9, 2008, demonstrating their capability and experience with similar systems, as well as assurances of service continuity and compatibility. Interested parties must provide company identification details such as DUNS, Tax ID, and CAGE codes and be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. Responses will be reviewed, but if none are received, the contract will proceed with Standard Communications Inc. The primary contact for submissions and inquiries is Michael Collum, Contract Specialist at the Huntsville Center.
