NIWDC has a requirement that supports a Navy-wide initiative to develop an Information Training Program and a cornerstone of the initiative is to develop a computer lab that allows for NIWDC personnel to have a dedicated work space that can support multiple computer towers and a traditional office work environment. NIWDC has identified that NH-139, Room 179 would sufficiently meet their requirements, but would need to be renovated from its current use a Storage Room. NIWDC has two clear requirements for this project: 1. NIWDC requires the renovation of NH-139, Room 179, which currently serves as a storage room, into an office space that supports multiple computer workstations. There is currently a fire main located in the back of the room that will need to be separated from the current space in order to meet all future fire protection codes. 2. NIWDC also requires a new storage area for the various office supplies that are currently housed in Room 179. They would like to explore external storage options such as, Conex boxes, PODS, or other nearby facilities that have the appropriate environmental controls. NIWDC is currently looking to reduce the inventory of the storage room in order to facilitate its relocation. This project is NIWDC’s highest priority and has a Mission Need Date for Design of FY22 and MND for award of FY22 or Q1 FY23. NIWDC will fund the design and award of this project.
