This contract is for the procurement of 8,878 self-locking hexagon nuts identified by NSN 5310-01-439-7288 and part number MS17829Z8C, manufactured in accordance with the non-government standard NASM17829 Revision 2 dated 09/30/2025. The item is classified as a commercial item and must meet stringent quality and technical requirements referenced from the DLA Master List of Technical and Quality Requirements, including dimensional conformance inspections per System 22 of FED-STD-H28/20 for Class 3A and 3B threads, excluding those below specified diameters. The nuts are designated as a critical application item and must not contain mercury or mercury compounds in any form, except where explicitly permitted for functional components like batteries or sensors, and all packaging and preservation must comply with strict mercury prohibition requirements.
