The New York State Department of Health plans to extend its existing contract with Carina for an additional year, from April 1, 2024, through March 31, 2025, to ensure the continuity of the home health care services pilot program. This extension is necessary because conducting a new competitive procurement was not feasible at this time, as the program must remain operational while the department prepares to issue a broader Request for Proposal (RFP 20366) for statewide program management. The extension is classified as a sole-source award due to Carina being the current single-source recipient, and the contract covers all counties across New York State, with the location based in Albany, NY. The contract's end date for this extension is May 3, 2024, and it is part of the NYS Department of Health’s efforts to maintain essential health services without interruption during the procurement process. The contract pertains to the NYSOH Private Pay Home Health Care Services Pilot, under solicitation number 2109393, with a posted date of April 26, 2024. The program falls under the NAICS code 812990, which relates to other personal services, and is managed by the New York State Department of Health, a State and Local Government Entity. Interested parties can find more details or submit questions through the NYS Contract Reporter link provided. The procurement is specifically designated as a single-source award, emphasizing the need to preserve program stability until a competitive process can be completed.
