Oak Hollow Camp Host Shed

The California Department of Parks and Recreation is executing a project at Calaveras Big Trees State Park to replace a failing storage shed at the Oak Hollow Campground Camp Host site 77. The project scope includes the removal and disposal of the existing shed, the cutting and stump grinding of a 14-inch DBH white fir, and site preparation involving excavation up to 8 inches deep to create a level base. Additionally, the contractor will excavate a trench measuring 2 feet deep by 6 inches wide and 12.5 feet long to install electrical conduit and wiring from the new shed location to the existing electrical box. The new structure will be an 8-foot by 4-foot shed featuring T111 siding and a metal roof, painted to match existing park facilities. The north-facing exterior wall will be equipped with a shower token machine and a 4-foot by 4-foot camper message and information board. This project is categorized as exempt under Class 1 and 3, Sections 15301 and 15303, as it involves minor alterations and limited new small structures.
