AI Contract Overview
Broward County Transportation Department is seeking to identify the most reasonable or sole source provider for off-duty law enforcement security detail services at the Lauderhill Transit Center. The county intends to award a one-year open-end contract without competition if it is determined that only one vendor can meet the specific requirements, which include providing one police officer per shift for two daily shifts, seven days a week. The Lauderhill Police Department currently has a contractual relationship with Extra Duty Solutions, a third-party contractor, to manage these off-duty security services, which is the known reasonable source for this service. The purpose of the notice is to assess whether other qualified vendors can supply comparable services or products, with all responses evaluated solely by the county to determine if a sole source or an equal alternative is appropriate. Vendors interested in contesting or supporting the proposed sole source designation must submit detailed information and documentation through Periscope S2G by the specified deadline. The county emphasizes that the decision on the source will be final, non-appealable, and based solely on the agency’s review of the submissions.
