The Department of Veterans Affairs, through its Technology Acquisition Center in Eatontown, New Jersey, has initiated a direct-award contract to Trillamed, LLC for the procurement and installation of three additional Omnicell XT Two Cell Medication Dispensing Cabinets at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, North Carolina. This action follows market research conducted under RFI Notice VA2600044494, which concluded that sole-source award is justified under Revolutionary FAR Overhaul 19.106-3 due to the unlikelihood of receiving offers from two or more Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. The acquisition will be executed through the GSA eBuy Federal Supply Schedule contract 36F79720D0041 under Special Item Number 65 II A-92, which covers Medication and Supply Packaging and Dispensing Equipment. The requirement specifies an integrated, turn-key solution that includes not only the hardware units but also full installation, configuration, manufacturer testing, on-site calibration, wireless flex lock deployment, software licensing, and comprehensive system integration with existing Omnicell infrastructure, electronic health records, and hospital IT systems. All equipment must be Omnicell brand only and meet stringent security standards, including biometric or password-based authentication, segregation of high-alert medications, barcode scanning, and real-time inventory tracking with automated restocking alerts.
